I want to set up a small (10 to 20 gallon) biotope tank that is low - medium tech. Are there any good biotopes I could create for a small tank. I was looking at Amazon/South American, Indian, or African. Which biotope would be best for a small low - medium tech tank. I'm planning on about 2 - 2.5 watts per gallon with some fertilizers and diy C02. Also, any fish and plant suggestions to fit in a 10 t0 20 gallon tank.

What's best really depends on what you want...it is your tank. That being said it's also kinda hard for us to give you any examples as there are too many different fish that could fit in the variety of tank sizes...I'll try my best to give some broad suggestions.

Though I would have to say african is out of the mix unless you want killies.

SA you could go with tetras, corys and possibly rams/apistos

SE asia would be rasboras, kuhli loaches, and dwarf gourami/ honey pair

plants...I'm not so good at.

I would go with SE asia for a 20 gallon tank. A honey gourami, a school of rasboras and a school of Kuhli Loaches would be perfect for a 20 gallon tank.
