Someone took a chunk out of my fattie. I had a project due today that's worth about half my grade in that class, I've been working really hard to finish it on time. So unfortunatly for fattie, i had to leave him in the tank for a day or two before being able to remove and treat him. I'm glad I did, because he's getting infected.

Both sides of his dorsal fin are like this, and his dorsal fin is just tattered. He seems to be doing okay. I'm treating him with Melafix.

What else is in the tank ? If its just barbs then it took some time to wear down the fin....melifix is good, but something with a slime coat additive would also help along with a little salt...

He is alone right now, I put in extra aquasafe when I set his tank up, to help with his slime coat. The tank has 4 gold barbs (including him) 7 rasporas, 2 dwarf goramies, 3 corie cats, and 1 chinese algee eater. I wonder if it was my algee fish, but he is surprisingly docile, even though the barbs eat his food.

I will add a little salt right now.
