Bitten by the shrimp bug!

I have 2 bamboo shrimp with my fantails. Most shrimp prefer cooler temps. I would think the goldfish would make snacks out of the smaller shrimp. Mine ignore the bamboos.

I have seen amano shrimp around these parts just once and I bought them. Since then I have seen no freshwater shrimp at all.

bamboos are from southeast asia- so keep the temp 70~86 (this is what mine prefers anyway) and some goldfish might show some 'interest' in the shrimp- buy one that's of equal or greater size than the goldfish. be sure to provide a cave a/o lots of plants. it molts, and it needs a hiding place.
or a place to escape from the fish. if it's the latter, you might want to put it in a separate tank- or return it. if it hides all the time, it wouldn't be brave enough to filter and eat, thus starving to death. but very slowly. but before you do anything, give it 1~2 weeks. mine was super shy at first, and wouldn't come out of the forest. and it turned out he was molting!!!
