Over the course of the last few months, I've let the inhabitants of my main tank die out to start a new stock of fish.

With an empty tank and an approaching birthday, my friend gifted me with a pair of Black Fin Shark to restart. I have little experience raising any catfish.

In less than a month in my 10g QT, they both developed Ich and one passed away. The other is healing nicely though one fin is discolored and not eating yet.

If anyone could provide me some advice, I need it.

Thanks.

Let them die out? How? Sounds rather strange way of putting it? Old age?

Although I cannot answer your question, I am quite concerned that you let your fish "die out" over the last few months. Were these perfectly healthy fish which you neglected, or were they mostly diseased and you did little to help them?

There are several options to get rid of fish you don't wish to keep.

I kept their feeding and care constant but never restocked the tank so I could raise a different community later on.
