Black Flourite Project

I hear you on the fact that you keep rearranging. My plans keep changing too. In fact i have a 30g all planned out and went to the LFS yesterday and they have stopped carrying the rock i wanted. And I could not find black fluorite anywhere... and so my tank is still a mess of all my leftover items. Not even remotely pretty, but serves the fish's need well. That is our top priority right?

you can get a black background at most any store. At Petco and petsmart all you have to do is tell a worker what length tank you have and they will cut the right size for you. Other times you can find precut ones rolled up in a box hanging on the shelves. One for my 30g cost me about 2 bucks. i have moved my tanks with the background on the back many times. My 30 was a used tank and i kept the background. it was moved from the store to my home to my dorm to home, back to dorm, back home, to an apt, back home, then to my current residence. It was not until this last move from the basment upstairs that i ripped the background and had to replace it. just tape the sides on well and you will be good to go!

Skunky,

The tank's going through a heavy fishless cycle, once it's done, it'll be stocked. I haven't decided on what yet, but most likely a transfer of Yellow Shrimp and guppies to it.

I've been busy with the Discus tank lately, so these fishless tanks may get neglected a bit, but more pics will come once I update.
