Black Knife fish 19"??

So you have an african knifefish that is twice the size of most maxed out african knifes?
Did I say anywhere else that I own African knives? In my previous post though, I was only sharing what I've seen. I can't imagine a 2 feet African knife would be placed in a tank where it can't turn itself around.

I can't imagin a 2 foot african knifefish existing in captivity... period

must have been on growth hormone....
Makes me wonder why someone would jump to conclusions such as this.;) I doubt you've actually seen any such sizes anyway when others can.

Furthermore, it is possible that the owner may have received it from one of his friends the moment it outgrew the initial tank.

I don't know what else to put in the tank, but I am looking. It has to be something that will be able to co-exist with Shadow - the tank belongs to him. He is currently in a bow-front 72 gal and will likely be upgraded to a larger tank around Christmas - at least a larger tank is on my list to Santa :).
Also - with the speed and appetite of the Tetras - any other fish I introduce would have to be aggressive enough to get some food - it disappears fast with this bunch - if you snooze - you loose.
Just take a look at my signature for stocking info.

Some severums (also Amazonian region) would probably work well with your BGK. I got one of each at the same time, aaaww, they were such little tykes, and now are half grown and get along very well. Moving them into a new 125g W once I finish setting it up, along with 2 more sevs. . . . . they can hold their own, but will not be intentionally aggressive towards the BGK.

Thanks so much Rosita.

I will look into them.
It would be nice to have some new fish.

(love the avatar).

Thanks!!! Love yours--that's Shadow? Aren't they beautiful when they start to fill out? And no prob--I love BGK, and appreciate those who keep them properly!!:) BTW, I don't think sevs will bother your smaller fish, they prefer vegetation.
