Black kuhlis (Pics!)

Pangio kuhli, as well. I don't think there is much noticeable difference between the two besides the colour. From what I've read, your cat shouldn't be too interested in turning kuhlis into a meal.
I don't think the cats would be deterred from thinking kuhlis as meals. They are opportunistic feeders and will attempt it anytime. No can do I'm afraid.

I took my info from planetcatfish. Note these two quotes:

"A perfect community fish"

"Ideal first catfish for a budding aquarist as well as a good ''worker'' catfish for all levels of community tanks"

I didn't think a 5" fish with that description would harm 3.5" kuhlis

Kuhlis are very slender in body shape. I had an incident that had happened before between my striped Raphael and an elusive kuhli that I was never able to move. It is easy to underestimate how most fish can gobble up others.

I love my kuhlis, but wish they came out more. They're still traumatized after being moved a month ago.

I've thought about getting some black ones, but I just like the banded so much better.

kuhlis are great! i have a few myself, mine are happy, but as a general rule they are shy fishes. I usually only see them when i feed them blood worms. They like snails too!
