Hi everyone, I'm new here and hoping someone can help me out. I've done a little research and found out that similar goldfish, plecos, weather loaches, corydoras catfish and upside down catfish are compatible with my black moors, but I was wondering if anyone knows any more that would be compatible? Thanks!

I would recommend only other fat bodied Goldies and the Hillstream Loaches.
Cories can be eaten by the Goldfish and they get stuck really easily in their throats. And any type of sucker mouthed fish like plecos are a bad idea as they just can't resist the slime coat on the Goldfish, and the Goldies are too slow to get away from them. Maybe one of the smaller Ancistris if you must, but generally speaking Goldfish do best with only other Goldfish.

Gravel is perfectly fine for goldfish. As long as you get gravel easy enough to spit out, and smaller than his/hers mouth (or throat), you should be in the clear. Just remember gravel larger than 1/4" can also be risky because they suck up the gravel, and if its the right size, it can get lodged in their throat.
You don't need any scavengers with goldfish, because goldfish ARE scavengers. Mine spend most of their time digging through the substrate looking for food. It is this behaviour that has made me want to keep goldfish in certain tropical tanks to clean up the substrate (would only be done temporarially, I wouldn't keep a fish that can get a foot long in a tank of neons, I'm not that dumb!).
hi, i'm new too...! i've got black moors too...my favourites... recently i've moved my tank close to a large window and my tank has tripled the amount of algae on the glass... what would you recommend as best algae eaters that will go well with my black moors and fan tails?
