One of my black moore goldfish seems to be loosing some of its black coloring at the base of its body. my two other black moores look the same. Is that normal?

Water conditions are good and all my gold fish seem healthy and happy.

Just wondering. Thanks!

Black Moor's often turn gold as they age. As long as your water parameters are normal this is to be expected. Black is a very unstable color in goldfish genetics and it often disappears as the fish matures. I had one mostly black comet that changed to completely gold in 3 weeks.

Ph is normal, no ammonia or nitrates, the temp is a little high (70 F) but I can"t get it any lower, and all the goldies are eating really well! He seems really happy. I am guessing what The V said ... losing a little balck coloring as he gets older.

And sorry it is "moor". I am not the sharpest nail in the wall, but I am the longest ;)

Hey Vegas, no worries...my moor started to turn orange/gold. It almost looked like a it had on a bold bikini over black..yeah weird  hehe
