My once beautiful tank has a bunch of black threads on everything. Red algae or something. Its butt ugly I want it gone! Ottos won't eat it, mollies won't eat it, and I won't add any aglaecide to my tank. How do I gets it gone?! One site said to add oxygen, another site CO2, I'm confused the world is spinning and the SKY IS FALLING!!!

I dipped one of the plants in hydrogen peroxide thats why some of the hairs are brown. There is also some brown algae on the hornwort. Anything I could get that would eat that stuff?

Increase CO2 levels and manualy remove it.

Flourish Excel also helps get rid of it, but I can't get that stuff to stop growing on my microsword without moving it to a non-flourite tank. I think this algae really like iron in the tanks.

Ugh! I know what you are going through...I am battling this right now as we speak. I am looking for a Siamese Algea Eater becuase I have heard they eat BBA. Unfortuantaly I haven't been able to one. I use to have a mystery snail that liked the taste of BBA but wouldn't touch any of my other plants but as my luck would have it that snail is no longer with us.

most of my BBA has disapeared after I increased excel doing and started doing KNO3
