Saw this cute pleco at one of my LFS's, Has anyone ever owned one?
My LFS is selling this lil baby at $28.00. :headbang2::devil::headbang2:

Every pleco is given a number that starts with the letter L.

there are so many different species of Loricarids that they often assign them a genus then give them a number until they can be properly classified. I.e. Zebra pleco (classified as Hypancistrus zebra) is L046. The L number is the easiest way to identify different pleco species as common names often lead to confusion.

In hopes of helping narrow your search, I'd guess it's a Hypancistrus species.

I'd be interested to see how this pleco looks. Common names are not my thing. I prefer scientific names.

Hope your LFS is not Petco/Smart. When I mentioned L numbers to the manager there, he looked at me like I had 2 heads !! Said he'd been selling "playcos", as he called them, for over 10 years and had never heard of an L number. Good luck.
