I have a new pleco that I got a few days ago. It looks like a regular pleco, about 4 or 5 inches long, healthy, very active. The only differences is are the coloring and the eyes. It is an almost pink color, much like and albino would be. And as for the eyes, it doesn't have pink colored eyes like you would expect with an albino pleco, it has NO eyes.

Has anybody ever come across one like this?

My albino cory catfish has ni eyes. I really didn't notice until I bought other cories and then it was obvious. However, that hasn't stopped him from being one of the most productive fish in my tank. Sure he bumps into wall alot but otherwise happy little fish.

My guess is that it is easier for the catfish, bottom feeder type fish. They are used to feeling their way around in darker conditions normally.

On Planet Catfish's forum this gut has a blind glyptoperichthys (Spelling???) it's like a gibbiceps or something related and he bought it knowing it had no eye's and now its pretty big. They do good since they just swim on the bottom scavengeing for food like a normal pleco. HTH.
