Please take a look at this neon and tell me if it looks abnormal. Its belly was rounded when I bought it but I didn't think anything was wrong (it was bought about 3 weeks ago). Lately though it looks more distended. It eats fine and schools with the rest of the neons.

well..... i woudl say pergo... But, not sure. Do neons get "fat" when pergo or about to lay. they dont live bare last time i checked.

I have no idea...I was hoping someone with more experience could tell me. I went back to the LFS today to pick up some more neons and I noticed that in their new batch most of them had rounded bellies.

thats how one of mine look after i feed them. the fat one eats all the food before the other neons can get it. if this is your problem, when u feed don't drop your food in one area, spread it out across the tank. the other possiblity is when it eats, it is taking in to much air. try soaking the food in a container of tank water for a minute, then put in the food. if these don't help, he may be bloated, and try feeding some crushed peas.

I have about sixteen neons in one of my tanks and they all look fairly similar to yours. They all have pretty rounded bellies on them but mine are also about 1 year old so they are getting pretty big all around now. I wouldnt get too worried until its behaviour changes.

Okay, cool. I have eight and it's the only one with a rounded belly. By the way, what would eating crushed peas do?
