:naughty: I know most of you don't like most hybrids but I've always liked the blood parrots. I've been looking at them for years at misc pet shops and I wanted one. I went to Petsmart last month just to look around and they had a few but the price was more than I was willing to spend...$25 for a 4" fish. I decided against it. I just can't spend $50 on 2 fish at the moment. I stopped by my lfs and they had baby blood parrots... about 1" for .99 each. I just couldn't pass it up. They are great! Such personality! I know they are supposed to be infertile, so I had no intention of breeding them. Besides, I figured they were too young and small yet. Well, surprise, surprise! I have 2 blood parrots in my 55g and 2 in my 46g bowfront. I have eggs in both tanks. They laid them 2 days ago and they aren't white and the parents are fanning them and protecting them. I guess my question is should they be breeding when they are so small? What are the chance that the fry... if they hatch, will revert to the differtnt cichlids that were crossed to create them in the first place? I know I couldn't handle a tank of red devils!
Please don't tell me to cull all of the fry because they are hybrids.
