Ok, this is weird, but the blood parrot looks to be doing a nest. She is digging between a log a big pit, and the fire mouth is also acting funny. this is not possible is it? that these two would mate

Ok, again I am bumping this up. there circling each other, dancing around and she is digging once in a while. can this be mating?? I will get video tonight if I can. what do you all think?

That doesn't sound likely, but I don't own either of those fish. Do Blood Parrots even mate that often since they are a cross breed? Cichlids dig all the time and fight over territories.

the females are alot of times willing to lay its the males that are infertile! so if she layed and the foremouth is a male and is paired with her they eggs would be fertile!

Wow, intresting combo that would be!!!! deff have to get pics up right away if fry come out of it!!!!!

She/he has a vent.... ( blood parrot) and she is the one digging the nest. whats so funny is she/he is huge and the fire mouth is much smaller. we shall see what happens.
