Nate, I think blood parrots may be prone to these because of their weird bodies. Their spines are bent, and their swimbladders are kind of squished.

I've found swimbladder problems very hard to treat. It's good that you have clean water, because I've had fish develop swimbladder disorders in dirty water (lots of waste = lots of bacteria = infection).

You might want to isolate the fish in a hospital tank, and treat with a broad-spectrum antibiotic. I'm not totally sure about this, though. It's a place to start, but might not be the reason for your fishy's issue.

as Plah said, these fish are deformed, sometimes severely, due to the genetic hybridization they've undergone and swim bladder problems are unfortunately all too common with this fish. such problems are not treatable and the kindest thing you can do is to euthanize the fish. and don't buy them in the future.

today she seems fine maybe becasue i did a 25 percent water change i dont but if she does ever get this how do i euthinize her. but before i do ill post some video or pics just to make shure it sthat. thanks for the advice.

i hate hybrids but when i bought the two i was kinda new to this. i had one in the 29 with the daffodils and danios and then i got a 75 to hold more fish since people say that a 29 is to small. the frontosa is awsome though i wonder how much u guys pay for one? i paid 15 dollars for mine at 5 inches.

no no no i did not mean them like that i hate the idea of it. i just think that if a fish looks good but doesnt feal good with the deformed mouth, curved spine and other problems . why should people keeps breeding them?

I think the question has been answered.

swim bladder problems can be a problem. could be genetic predisposition or could be caused by infection usully happens if there are poor water conditions.

you can try anti biotics, clean water..if the th proble mpersists you can euthenize the fish.

some use cold method others use clove oil..others use othe less desirable..

as to why the keep developing hybrids..as long as there is a market..they will try to meet demands.

Swim bladder problems are tough to treat, but if you really work at it you can cure it. Look into cures before looking into euthanizing.

As to hybrids:
Don't hate the fish. Hate the people...

Don't blame them. Blame the people that "messed them up."
