that's even better for maintenance..swap out atleast 50% of the water and test again..you want to try and get the ammonia below .25...you may need to do more water changes.

eventually you'll want to add some structure..for the fish.

my fishes look like they need somewhere to hide.. and i dont know how to go around adding sand and plants to the present tank with fish in them.. is there any chance of me doing that?

hey guys,

i did a test again and my ammonia seems to be up, 4ppm. i think there is something wrong somewhere.

i did a test on the raw tap water and i got a reading of about 0.25ppm. is that whats contributing to the ammonia to the tank, can i put stuff like activated carbon or charcoal in?

would anti ammonia products work for the time being? or do i just have to wait? its barely a week since the tank has been put together. am i just to anxious to see results?

Do a search on cycling.

Since you already have fish, you will need to be even more observant with testing and water changes, keeping ammonia and nitrites at .25 or less.

Do not overfeed. Get some structure in there for those fish so they have a sense of security.
