Blue Acara - Fin Rot?

Ok so the postman didnt bring the meds this afternonn so I took him to the vet and he was given an antibiotic injection and i got given antibiotic meds to put in his water as well. And the vet did a swab from his fins, looked under the microscope and said there were a lot of dead common parasites that were normal in tanks. He also tested my water and that all came back fine as well.
He said he was expecting to find some nasty parasites or high nitrite levels but there weren't any. Which i am pleased to hear (always nice to confirm you are a good mum)

So hopefully Hubert will get better with time and these lovely meds!

Would you be able to post what kind of antibiotic @ what dosage was injected?
Also volume of med as per its weight. Knowing blue acara and judging from pic, it probably weigh around 125g (~1/4 lb) unless vet actually wieghted before determining the [conc]/volume which I always did for large fish )~ 16" Queen Trigger, etc, etc) in order to determine correct amt to be injected.
Such info can be life saving info to some fish keepers including myself.

And as well as name of antibiotic to be used in the water?

One injection is enough?

Dead common parasites such as??? Does that include bacteria/fungi as well as term parasite can be very broad in the vet's mind.

Wondering why he expected to find just high NO2, not NH3, especially in well established tank though??

Hope all goes well!

the vet weighed him before he gave him the injection.
on the bill it says he injected "0.06 Doxycycline 50MG/ML" and the water medication as "16 Enrotril oral 25MG/ML"
the enrotril i have to put him in a seperate tank filled with some water from the main tank with 2 drops per litre of tank water. Then i leave him in there for 4-5 hours and repeat every second day for 14 days.

Im not sure what parasites they were on the screen they were round with a little spike, he said its normal to find them in the water.

And he was expecting high nitrites because he said that was one of the main causes of finrot.

Really? Only "0.06 Doxycycline 50MG/ML"? Which is approx drop and a half? although considering its body mass, volume seems appropriately calculated. Hope bill did not add up tocost Arm & Leg.

Injection usually has faster response than normal treatment. Do you see any improvements? Hope treatments were not too late!!!

btw, afa NO2 responsible for finrot is absurd, imo as Ive seen such fin/skin deterioration in NH3/NO2 free water. Prolonged exposure to NO2 had shown high mortality, even weeks later.

Thx for the info & Hope all goes well!

Oh! location of injection??

he seems better today after his 5 hour bath yesterday -more active, he was swimming around this morning but now his back to sitting at the bottom of the tank. definitely more perky though.

he injected him in the middle of the side between the scales, because he said it can some time bruise and hurts like a tetanus shot (how he knows im not quite sure).

pertaining to the NO3 i have no idea...
