I have a pregnant gouramis that has a black mark on its belly side and a swollen eye. They were in a community tank of 120 gallons. We moved the male and female to a 20 gallon tank when we noticed the female swollen up. We figured she was pregnant. Its been about 3 weeks and nothing has happened. The male has not made an attempt to make a buuble nest yet. Could the male be picking on the female and hurting her. How long should the should it take to lay the eggs? Could use some help ==== PLEASE

For one the only fish that get pregnant are the livebearers; gouramis don't.
It also doesn't sound like the female is egg bound/ in breeding condition. She sounds like she has some sort of disease - what exactly, I'm not sure of.
