Howdy

I have Blue Green Algae covering my sand. Some of it is red too. What the heck do I do to get rid of it.

Please help. Is there a chemical additive or something or some type of fish or crab or anything. My lights are good, my water quality I think is good, no Ammonia, no Nitrates.

Help!!!

just vaccuum 1/3 of the total footprint of the tank every other day for one week until all of the sand has been vacuumed.

Vacuum, what do you mean? The sand is all clumpy where the algae is growing. Do I remove that?

If so, is there an easy way to replace the missing sand?

Thanks.

John

using your gravel siphon siphon as deep as you can just to mix it up, this will bury the BGA/cynobacteria and you will have to continue to vacuum the gravel for a few weeks straight every 3-4 days 1/3 of the tank. if that doesnt work, try erythromycin, 200mg per 10G every 12 hours redose. start with a 45% water change first

Thanks.
