Blue pearl shrimp looks weird

CerenaDaft,
If it is turning white INSIDE the body, I strongly think it is the bacterial infection that was mentioned before.
Like others have said, I think your best bet is to remove the shrimp. I would not wait another minute to do this! If it's nothing....you will still have done the best option at this point.

I'll watch for a pic to be posted. That would help us a lot.

Also, if I were you, I would do more like an 80% water change at this point. Doing less than that...I think the chances of the bacteria still being in the tank is high.

Good Luck.

If I think it is what it is, according to zane on ShrimpNow, its a non-harmful parasite that some shrimp end up getting. Apparently it can spread, but supposedly not harmful...Here's the link (I hope this works?): http://www.shrimpnow.com/forums/showthread.php/8066-Milky-White-in-body-of-baby-Cherry-Shrimp

You can see a picture of it in the thread.

A couple months back, I saw a couple of my starter cherries had something like it. They looked healthy enough at the time. They've been under a different caretaker for a couple months now, and unfortunately, it seems more than half of the population ended up dying for some reason. Might have been due to other causes resulting from overfeeding or something that the other caretaker did.

But I have heard that when the body turns milky, it's not a good sign and usually people diagnose it as a bacterial infection.

Thanks Polarize. I say that thread too when I googled the problem a while ago. That's what I thought it was because the shrimp doesn't seem affected by it.
