Hello everyone!
I'm thinking of getting a Blue Ram Cichlid for my 10 gallon planted tank, was wondering if they are invert safe? Will they eat shrimp, and other inverts? Are they agressive? Will they be fine in the 10 gallon tank? Plz tell me more about the Blue Ram Cichlid, It is going to be the first time I'm going to keep Cichlids.

Blue rams tend to be a little on the delicate side compared to bolivian rams (they're the red variety and a little bit bigger and hardier). I tried keeping them when i was new to cichlids and within a couple of weeks lost all of them. I never once tried it again but then again the fish store i got them from was questionable too.

You just have to keep up with the water changes and make sure your water parameters are all optimal condition for them. I'm pretty sure there are tons of websites you can look up about blue rams. Good luck though!

i have started keeping blue rams for 3 weeks or so now, got to say they are in great condition

here's what i do

6 rams, 55g tank
loads and loads and loads of plants
lots of bogwood
peat filtered water
blackwater extract added during pwcs
gives me pH of 6.5
3 x 30% pwcs every week
keeps my nitrates below 10ppm

as for inverts, you cant really gurantee any inverts will be safe with ciclids, when shrimp moult they are vulnerable to cichlids...so its a bit of a gamble....try ghost shrimp first if they are ok then you can expand your invert community
