ust got home from a four day vacation .

this poor guy is long gone . my brother was taking care of the tank ..

looks like a case of ick? is this right ? notice the white spot behind the mouth

..

how do i prevent this (whatever it was) from spreading to the rest of the tank.?

so far no one else shows any symptoms

ich looks like grains of salt, not like big lesions, would say its an internal parasite.

kind of looks like a fungus to me

blue, I had a blue ram before with that type of thing. It's a round worm. When I had the 2 rams in the tank, only one had this and only he was affected. It's been a few months after that fish had ultimately died and no other fish contracted the worms. I believe I used coppersafe for it but not full strength because of my shrimp. I removed him from the tank and treated him full strength and he wound up dying. I am glad he died though because I believe the worms may leave the host looking for more if they were still alive. He wound up dying. Let me show you what they look like close up... Mine had the one in his cheek too and was badly infected.

round worm can also be treated with normal parasite meds (metronidazole and Praziquantel)

you can find these in either General parasite cure(API?) or jungle fizz parasite cure.

in instances where these don;t work flubenzadole/fenbenzadole or levamisoleHcl

the issue with these parasites is also bacterial infection(secondary infection)
