Blue Ram Spawning w/ Pics+Vids

Congrats! How cool!

My GBR's spawn every 3 or 4 weeks. Sometimes they'll dig a depression in the sand, sometimes they'll spawn on a flat rock.

If you want to hatch fry, keep an eye on your pH. There is a certain pH level over which the sperm aren't able to penetrate the egg and they won't ever be fertilized (I can't remember what exactly...I'm thinking something like 6?). I have a pH of about 7.6-7.8, so I never get fry (which is just as well, as I don't have the time to raise them).

My water parameters are perfect. pH about 5.5-6.2, extremely soft water (using a 60% RO/40% tap mix), temp around 84 for breeding. The eggs were just eaten due to inexperience, I'm imagining. These being wild caught, I have to keep an eye on my water anyways. =P

Really cool...and very colorful GBR's...great shots...
