Blue Ram vs German Blue Ram

There is a mom and pop shop I found that has some, they came in today, but I am not sure my tank is ready for them since I am still dealing with ammo. Cycle isnt complete.
cycle incomplete = you are not ready for fish
fish just came to the fish store = they are not ready to be sold

How can I be sure that the juvenile fish I purchase will gain color as it grows older? I assume that most fish gain thier colors as they age.

I would say the best way to get a quality example of the species is to get your rams from a known source like this site or many others out there. That way you can see the parents and gain a little be of the history of where your fish would be coming from.

Ramierzi are not good fish to add to a tank that is not 'mature'

even tho the species is far removed from wild strains...they are still considered 'sensitive' species.

while they may be more adapted to our varying Local water parameters..they still should only be added to a mature tank.

they also thrive in tanks that have similar water to Discus tanks and often make excellent tank mates for Discus.
