My husband just bought me a 36 gal bow and I was wondering if a Blue Ram can co-exist with peaceful Gnouramis? Can I add semi-agressive Gnouramis? Can one have both peaceful and semi Gnouramis?

I just want 1 Ram in the tank and a few Gnouramis. I currently have a couple of platy, 1 guppy, a pleco, 2 corycats and 6 ghost shrimp in another tank that I want to transfer all but the guppy and 1 corycat to this new tank. What are the thoughts on these fish & shrimp with either the Ram or the Gnouramis (peaceful or semi-agressive)?

Does anyone else have ghost shrimp and how many per gallon is a good lot size?

Thanks!

Rams should be ok with the gouramis...mine are. They don't bother each other at all. I have a pair of blue rams in a 29 with 2 neon dwarf gourami.

I don't think the rams will get along well with the cories...mine didn't anyway..but your tank is a bit bigger..if you have plenty of hiding places the cories might be ok. I would keep the 2 cories together. One alone gets all stressed out and unhappy. They feel safer with a partner or two.

Not sure how long the shrimp will last...lol....but you could give them a try. If there are alot of plants and things for them to hide in they may do ok. They'll be good for algae control anyway. Not sure how many would do for that tank...but I would think the 6 you have would be fine in a 36.
