Hello my tank is having some truble right now so this would be for alot later but what do yall know about Blue Velvet Nudibranchs they seem the best choice. If u like one better tell me or just tell me what you know about this slug
Do you have flat worms? The reason I ask is that all they eat is flat worms. Most nudibranchs only eat 1 thing and with this one it's flat worms. Both the other two eat algae and the Aplysia sp. eats calupera which you should be able to purchase at the lfs or on line. The think is you have to keep your tank really stable and if you have any larger fish they'll bother the nudi possibly making it ink. I don't know if I would want to attempt one rated for experts until I was pretty sure I could keep it alive.
The lettuce looks a little easier and it'll eat hair algae it's a sea slug by the way and not a nudibranch. It's very sensative to nitrate and copper and your tank has to stay very stable. It should help you to control alage,"along with getting your kh in check and some more snails". They are pretty neat critters they take chloroplasts into their cells so they can make food from light as well as the algae they eat. There have even been stories of some of them reproducing in the home tank. For more info and nudi's and sea slugs go to http://seaslugforum.net/display.cfm?id=16298
Thanks maxilaria that helps alot I guess i wont be trying them any time soon but someday i sure would like to have one of those blue velvets heh
I did not know the velvets used ink also thats why i picked it i knew i was not ready for anything like that i doubt i have the right filter and it would wipe out my tank
Thanks again for alllll your help maxilaria :bowing:
I don't think it does ink the problem is the only thing it will eat are flatworms. The sea hare will ink of the three on liveaquaria the only one that would be easiest of a challenging group would be the lettuce.
