Bluegill and sunfish tank

I like the one with the catfish that gets 32 inches and it goes in a 10 or larger. So there are dwarf sunfish green sunfish. And what others could go in a 55?

I have a pair of pumpkinseeds now, they'll be going into the pond before summer. Beautiful fish.

I have a tank reserved for the kids to fill with native species they catch every year (provided they're compatible with what's already in the tank), so far the redfin pickerel was the best :)

The sunnies are personable and not at all timid (one of them will eat out of my hand).
 
Shouldn't have looked at this thread....I need to get me a new 75g real quick for some of them pumpkinseeds lol.

I had my bluegill in a 55g but he needed more room. A maxed out bluegill in my opinion will not fit in a 55g, mine was getting cramped. So I couldnt imagine 2. now hes in a 90g bowfront and I plant to keep him without any more bluegills.:headbang2:
 
I'm a fan of the northern longear sunfish. They get some really nice color as they reach subadults. Just keep in mind, some native fish may be illegal to keep as pets (laws vary from place to place).

LOL. It may have been more expedient for Texas to merely list the allowed species and provide that all unlisted species are illegal.
