Blue's BC 14

^I have a small colony of random zoas that took a turn for the worst one day and stayed closed and looked to be dying for about 3 weeks or so. Then one day one opened halfway and they've been slowly recovering since.

Corals are very very resilient for how fragile they can be, give them time, light, and good water and they may still make a comeback.

Well the fire and ice are still not looking any better or any worse. They haven't melted yet which I consider a good sign :)

Today I found 3 of what I think are baby sun corals. I tried looking online about it but didn't get much info. Do sun coral spread around the tank?

Sun corals are non photosynthetic I believe. As such I wouldn't think they'd just kind of, spread.. All over the tank. Perhaps you could get a pic for better ID?

Unless they are the start of a separate colony they likely are not sun corals which grow in a cluster of the same skeleton. Are they yellow/orange?

Yeah they are pretty bright yellow. Unfortunately I do not have a camera good enough to get a picture. I'll just keep an eye on them as they grow.

I have a hitchhiker that I believe is a plate coral that is on the same "wait and see" regiment. I need a better camera to be able to get proper IDs.

Those would be very cool hitchhikers indeed! Plates seem to be one of the more common HH corals. My LFS chipped a speck off of a zoa colony they got a while back and it turned out to be a an orange plate with a green rim and a red outline around the mouth. Hope you get something similar!

^that would be exciting :) I've never seen a plate anywhere but someone's sand bed, nor have I ever seen a "colony" do to speak. Do they grow on rock (encrusting maybe?) in nature?

Well I'm looking into an upgrade(well I have been for a while). I love this tank and it's size but I want something nicer looking. I ordered an 25 gallon ecoxotic tank yesterday. I just found out they have been discontinued so hopefully there is one still around to send to me. I ordered from premium aquatics so I know they will take care of it.

The tank is awesome and it's sad ecoxotic decided to discontinue it. It's pretty much exactly like the solana 34 but smaller. It comes with a glass lid, protien skimmer (do I need that for a softie/LPS tank?) and an ATO.

So the tank move has happened sooner than planned.

Basically everything is in the tank and the rock scape will be changed later.

Here is what I think is a plate coral(right in the middle)

My yasha goby jumped shortly after the move. She was super freaked out :( This is my last picture of her.
