Mine like to dig little trenches in my sand going under the driftwood. You can get a veggie clip and put a thin slice of cucmber/zucchini on it over night, but take it out in the morning. MY BNs love it.

cool, mine seems to be extremely photosensitive, if there is any light at all it will not move, and literally the second i turn off the light it begins to stir, i had the light off and left my room before, so it was totally dark in there, when i came home and flicked the light on in my room i saw it stuck to the glass, and it started thrashing around the tank wildly, smiashing into one of my sleeping peruvian rams!

I'm glad your BN turned out OK.

I had a similar problem when I first bought mines home. Now I rarely see it in the tank. And I do happen to catch it out of cover, it'll run back into it's "cave" and hide from me. (1.5 inches now)

It's called being Nocturnal. It's his nature to not be out cleaning during the day. It may get more comfortable and venture out more as it feels secure, but the odds are good it won't.
