BoCoMo's Picture Thread

Thanks Rich & PF!

Here are some pics from this past weekends "stream cleanup" effort. This is a really rewarding way to give back to the planted that provides us with such beautiful fish & wildlife. I really recommend picking a local stream or creek and heading out on a nice Saturday or Sunday with a couple trash bags and recycle bags and walking a stream. You can see some pretty cool fish and wildlife while you pick up trash that you see along the way. If you want to share the experience take your family or friend(s) out with you if you want... If you're like me you will really enjoy it! I personally found a few pools with darters and top minnows that I plan on seining on my next trip!

Comments Welcome! :)

What a lovely stream! I found the toad pretty quickly. My 6 year old daughter standing right next to me had trouble finding it which surprised me. She's got a good eye.

I've got a toad story tonight. I noticed a hole in the yard and I put a kid toy over it to mark it as it could be a real ankle breaker. We'd not gotten a cut in on the lawn yet and it was pretty unruly long! I was on the mower this evening and stopped to move the toy so I could cut the grass and there in the hole was Mr. Toad! A BIG one at that. He was sitting there bottom first and just backed down out of sight. We kept going back to see if we could see him come out but no luck.

I drive along the Potomac River just about every day. It's so pretty. There are folks that walk and pick up trash on a regular basis along the road. There is also a riverside clean up at least twice a year. I can't participate in that yet as my kids are far too small to have at the road side - cars whizz by way too fast. When they get old enough to go along, we'll participate in the community clean up! My kids always clean up trash when ever they see it on the ground.

Beautiful house, beautiful location, beautiful tanks. What more could you ask for? :)

How about a nice compliment? Thanks for the kind words! :)

These guys were all over the place!

He was probably wondering where his new outdoor porch went!

Sounds like they are learning right! My dad always told me that any trash I saw was my trash and my duty to clean up. It really stuck! Thanks for checking out the thread!
