I put my bogwood in my tank yesterday and this morning its got 5-6 spots where its growing this white pillowy material. I dont want my fish to die! Please help! :help:

probably a natural fungus.. let it runs it's course.
often when we get new driftwood that has been submerged , we clean it.. this removes the fungus that had already run it's course and gets it started again.

apparently some people say it might be grapevine... can someone post a pic of grapevine so i see what it is and make sure its not that =p

grapevine is typically pretty light. Mopani is similar in appearance but much heavier.. Mopani like malaysia bog wood tends to sink.\

did this stuff float? is the exterior texture rough on the exposed wood?

Not sure of the type of wood. If it's OK for use in an aquarium, the white stuff on wood is fairly common - it will go away soon.

But if its grapevine, its unsuitable for aquarium use, its a softwood and will rot. I learned that hard lesson a long time ago, after purchasing $60+ of it. But it wasnt wasted, I donated it to a reptile keeper.
