I honestly think they are swimming into the glass. I had some hatchets that did the same thing and their lips were bruised and in bad shape. I dont know why they do it, you would think they would learn. All you can do is add a little aquarium salt. Anyway, good luck healing them.

You know, I am a little worried it could be cotton mouth disease. Although they have been like this since I got them (3 weeks) and they are eating and acting fine.

Yeah, even my many of my praecox rainbows in my 29 gallon have that same effect. I chalked it up to them running into the glass, or the heater...

Doesn't seem to hurt them so...
