I think the "giant" sidthimunkis are y. nigrolineata. Here's the LOL new species http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?t=2759 Mine never got much more than 2in.
Anyway corys are a good choice, I just got pandas but not to live with my sids. I'm thinking of adding some kuhlis, they're not quite so rowdy.

No they are not... botia nigrolineata are easy to distinguish from botia sidthimunki when they are juveniles.

OK I just got one albino and one that has a whole bunch of dark spots. Don't worry I'll get mor on Sunday.

H3D, did you look at the last pic with both nigro & sid together? Nigrolineatas get the "chain" pattern at a bigger size than sids & then loose it when they get big.
