I have a 60 hex that I need some bottom feeders for. All I can seem to find are cories. I thought that I had read somewhere that cories don't do well in deep tanks because they need to come to the surface occasionally. It's a community tank with tetras and stuff so I cant have anything that may be aggressive or eat them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Interesting. I think most cories could get to the surface. Mine has springs, sometimes I think she'll hit the top of the hood, but she never does. My tank is about 18 inches tall, I'm sure she could bounce up another 6 inches or so. Or maybe you can just add terraces to the tank with rocks for the cories so they won't always be so deep. Say, mid level or so. Sounds nice.
The tank is 30+ inches deep, but I do have a LARGE piece of driftwood that they could use to move level to level. I don't have anything against cories, but I have seen some loaches (kuhli, botia) that would look cool, but I can't find them.

I would think more gallons for clown loaches, but the khulii, Dojo or Yoyo loaches are cool too and you could probably have 4 or more. 
I agree w/ khuli's, yo-yo's, or maybe even zebra loaches or dario loaches. Most of those max out at about 4 inches. So a group of 4 would be good. Maybe a smaller species of pleco, like a rubber-lipped or bushynosed. Also, cory's should be fine as long as the tank is well oxygenated.
Hex tanks have less surface area than recatangular tanks, as is all comes down to floor area. Clown loaches, while slow growers, would get much too large for a 60 hex.
Some Otos would also be nice. Cheap, small, and peaceful, but not really bottom dwellers.
