Bought 2 plants, need some advice

crypts develop pretty big root systems, so when you move you may consider increasing the depth of your substrate to support it. For now, just try and shift some sand to cover the roots that are already established.

The roots on it are pretty big, especially compared to the sword. Getting the pot off was a pain due to a lot of the roots going through the holes.

I think I have 50lbs of sand in there at the moment, will see what I can do about burying the roots completely for now. Shame I can't find about a 5lb bag of playsand! I am researching if there are any other substrates better suited to plants for when I move, but not sure what effect (if any) they will have on my pH.
