Okay... so I read the sticky- spoke to the folks at my LFS... and now I dont know what the heck to do lol...

This is what I have:
KNO3
KH2PO
K2SO4

This is what I have been given for amounts:
KNO3 - 1/4 tsp per 30 gal.
KH2PO - 1/16 tsp per 30 gal.
K2SO4 - 1/16 tsp per 30 gal.

My tanks are:
10 gal
14 gal

My question is...

How freaking much am I supposed to put in my tanks??? I tried finding out for my 10... thinking 10 is an easier than 14 for conversions and such... I'm lost. I've done a lot of math and I just dont get it...

I'm hoping someone has alread done this math, is better at math than myself, or has a BRILLIANT solution...

:help:

THANK YOU!

PS: I also have SeaChem Trace... I'd like to start on the EI Schedule but I dont know how much of the chemicals to put in my tanks....

(PPS: Same tank but thread on lighting: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=191963)

get some small bottles, add the amount of ferts you were told fill with tank water... use 1/2 bottle on the 14 gallon tank, and 1/3 the bottle on the 10

ps not if your plants use em first, may actually starve the algae but that depends on your lighting and co2

Thanks bush and debaric. That helps a ton! I have no CO2 at the moment. I'm going ot see if I have an algae problem first, if I do I'll adjust lighting periods first, then attempt a DIY CO2 system and if that doesnt help then I'll invest in an actual system.

Interesting to know the ferts might increase algae.... hmmm... we'll see!

Thank you for the help! :)

Is it so needed to be exact? Cant I just mix the 3 up in large quantities of the perscribed dose and add a pinch of it 3 days a week?

Here is what I plan to do once I figure this out...

Monday - Ferts
Tuesday - Trace
Wed - Ferts
Thurs - Trace
Fri - Ferts
Sat - Trace
Sunday - Waterchange Only

Is this a good routine?

I'm curious to know the answer to this also. I'm an avid gardener (outside ;-)), and that's essentially what we do when we use ferts. You get a combo that represents the balance you decide you need, 10-10-10 or 10-30-10 or whatever. seems like it would work the same, no?
