Hi all, newbie here.

I Urgently bought a new tank on Monday night (spec: 33cm W x 30 cm D x 35 cm) with good filter system (as what it stated....) fill it up with water and put my 5 only survied fish in the new tank yesterday.....5 was dead, because my small glass tank had a cracked line and when I step in to office on Monday morning, almost all the fish half turning over because the water level only left about 5 to 8cm height! quickly transfer the fish to small pile and clear the mess...later afternoon to Tuesday morning together 5 fish die...

I did not do the so called "cycle" water to the new tank (checked with the shop owner and it said ok to just clean inside tank and can straight put in fresh water) and also I cant wait for that long time or else all my fish will be dead. Will there be any problem with my fish? :help: sometimes they are quite active but sometimes they are not...... why?

Ok. Just bought one nice shaped wood with some plant on it and also bought one live plant plus 10 new fish ^ ^:) tomorrow put it all in the tank and hope it will look perfect and nice ^ ^.

I Will take some photo once everything is set and show in new thread.:dance2:

First off read this article:

That will get you off to a good start.

What sort of fish were you trying for your tank-may have been too many, too quick (or just plain too many!)

As for the driftwood, another article:

Lots of good info in this section:

And as always, the search function and Google are your friends!

sorry to ask this, but what size is the tank in gallons? I don't know the conversions for cm to gallons, sorry.. what kind are the five older fish, and what kind are the 10 new fish? what are the water parameters, what kind of filtration/heater do you have, and how frequently do you do water changes, and how much water do you change? Do you treat the water before putting it into the tank?

I would have moved the substrate and existing stuff from the old tank to the new one, possibly avoiding the cycle because you kept the existing bacterias and stuff.
