Bought Some Cryptocorynes

I recently bought some crypt. wendittii and anacharis. The crypts look like that are starting to deteriorate from the leaves down. Is this cyrpt rot? Is there anything I can do to avoid it? Some of the plants look fine though, but I don't know if this will occur with them too. The anacharis appears well. I'd like to keep it planted instead of floating, but will it do well this way? I've had luck so far with planting hornwart to safe-guard swordtail fry.

Crypts can melt when their conditions change (more/less light, temperature changes, etc.). Don't worry, they should come back if conditions are good. You can remove the disintigrating leaves, but try not to disturb the base of the plant too much. In a little while it will recover and begin growing new leaves. I've had melts after moving Crypts from medium to high light, the plants have always come back

The anacharis stems will do best planted, not floating. They'll root in the substrate, you can take top cuttings and replant them once the stems get longer.
