Brackish Help!

Starting to get brownish algae... I have a Siamese Algae Eater and frankly, he is such a menace, I could care less what happens to him in my Brack Tank, so please no posting that he should be in FW...

I have respect for plecos, but dwarfs and otos cant fit into brackish...

WHAT CAN SOLVE THIS?!?!

Its on my fake rubbery coral my mom got from Wal-Mart, so i didnt wanna break her feelings by not putting it in there... And theres some algae in the tube that feeds into the filter! How do i get all this stuff outta here!

Sorry, but one of the hassels of having a BW tank is no BW algae eaters--you have to do your own maid service.
 
Umm....how? with a sponge or what?
 
I use a magnetic scraper for the glass. For ornaments, if you really hate the look, you'll have to bleach the algae monthly in a weak bleach/water soak.

Make sure you don't keep the light on too much.....that will definately cause brown algae to spread like wildfire. I try to keep mine on no more than 7 hours each day.

That's not true, because it continues to grow in my 135g which is nowhere near light and I only have the light on maybe once every three days for about 4 hours. I agree though, that it would help to have the light on alot less. It definately can't be helping. Anything more than 2-3 hours on an un-planted tank is a bit much, especially if it's close to getting some form of natural light. Which is always beneficial, and can do more good than harm to a tank.
