Disolve the salt in a different bucket, 1tablespoon per gal (i believe, not sure). Do not raise your tank more than .002 a week or you might suffer some serious damage to your bacteria colonies. Any marine salt should do
ps
no need to post a new thread, just throw this one in your old next time; we'll read it
Have you done this before? Why give advice, if you don't know for sure. I doubt if that would even register on a hydrometer. It takes around a cup of salt/5gal to raise the SG .005, so to raise the SG to 1.002 from 1.000, I'd use arounf 1 3/4 cups, for starters & check with your hydrometer after adding the salt, to be sure.
Make sure if using top off water to regulate water level that you use only fresh and not additional salt. The water will evaporate but the salt stays behind. Only add new salt water after taking the old salt water out at water change time. And yes, you must use Marine salt and not aquarium salt, and yes a hydrometer is a very important tool or else you will never know the quantity of salt in the water. As with most things in fish keeping stability is the key to healthy fish.
