just wondering what brackish fish other than mollies can be acclimated to saltwater tanks?
i have a dalmation molly in my 75g saltwater tank and was just curious what else could survive in there.
guppies I've read can be acclimated to full salt, I have some in a brackish tank that I put in as newborn babies and they have done fine. I do not have a full salt tank but I think they can go there if done slowly. Green spotted puffers also need full salt as they get older.
No FW puffer (& there ate a LOT of FW species) will tollerate any BW at all, nevermind SW. F8 puffers prefer low-end BW, which leaves the GSP, Ceylon & Fugu puffers.
Some other Brackish water fish that do migrate to saltwater as adults are Monos and Scats but both will get far too large for the 75 as they are a schooling fish. So I would just stick with Mollies, Guppies and Puffers.
I've read on other websites that there are typically considered 2 types of knight goby's. One of which can be found "downstream in seawater" so, possibly danyal had this species?
