What test kits do you all use for your brackish water tanks?

I used Seachem kits in my reef tank. I know some of these will work in freshwater, but they do not have any tests for hardness. And I know some companies have seperate test kits for fresh vs. salt, so what do you use in Brackish (one of each)?

Thanks,
Chris

Chris -

I use Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Saltwater Master Test. I would not use a Freshwater kit for there is salt in your water. That way, if the amount of salt in the tank is enough to alter a freshwater test, the saltwater test will prove an accurate reading.

Hope that helps and someone else with put their opinion/suggestions in.

I've always used freshwater test kits, but my brackish tanks were all low SG.

I've used both freshwater and saltwater test kits over the years, usually depending on salinity. I currently just have 1 Brackish tank that is kept at 1.010 and use the Freshwater test kit on it. I checked the values last week and there was 0 ammonia, 0 nitrIte, less than 10 nitrAte, and pH was 8.2 (use the high range pH cause if use the regular it just shows 7.8 but it is clearly higher than that). I do weekly water changes so don't always check the water quality (weekly water changes keeps the Bleps happy so they are pretty good indicators of water quality), so in short you can use either, under 1.010 I would use FW, over 1.010 I would use saltwater. JMO!
