I just got my oblongum pair from toddnbecka yesterday. Great packing, great looking and healthy fish.

Here are some pictures.

My Belgian Shepherd-fish, Sasha, that has become able to live out of water and bark. She was jealous.

Cute fishies... even the furry one!

Awesome! I wonder if this is what used be called Cichlasoma facetum. Never have the pleasure of owning such colorful one!

Cerianthus - The proper scientific name is Australoheros oblongum. They were only found in the wild in the 1800's, and have not been discovered since. I have no idea if the were facetum at one point, but they do share some similarities, you're right. However, they don't get as big, and are not very aggressive fish at all.

These pictures are kind of crappy. They really don't show the color very well. They are so much brighter than these pictures make them.

Sadly the dogfish wasn't a freebie from toddnbecka. I got her in June.

They were sold as a breeding pair. Toddnbecka told me that they laid eggs once, so after a try or two more, I should be able to get some fry. Are you interested? I know Toddnbecka has some available from a different spawn.
