I got talked into buying a brain coral from someone who was getting rid of their reef tank. I was reading in my aquarium corals book that they can be fish eatters. I have 2 small clownfish in my tank...should I be worried? Or is this very unusual?

It must depend on the type of brain coral. The ones on my native LR are not fish eaters. They barely have the ability to trap particles of flake food!

I have never heard of a brain eating a fish. Maybe a very big open brain, but I am dubious, and can't find any mention in my books. Which book is this?

I've seen clowns host in open brains . I don't think that you'll have anything to worry about either.

The book was Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman. It is on p.302 second paragraph from the bottom, last sentence. I'm glad that this seems very unusual to everyone, so I probably have nothing to worry about. Thanks for the info.

Hey, there it is. Missed it skimming the different brain species this morning. Guess you should keep it fed.
