Hello, i was wondering when should Monos be switched to full saltwater. Is it size or age that counts? Also, thinking about getting a brackish puffer that will go to full salinity with my monos. I have not found any arround the chicago suburbs LFS. What kind of puffer should i be looking for. I used to have a figure eight puffer when i started the tank (60 gallon) but i know they will not go to full salinity so i sold him. Any help is appreciated. I am really confortable with my 125 reef tank but i really like puffers, so hopefuly i can make this happen.

I know green-spotted puffers start off brackish and go full marine as adults. There may be others as well; try www.thepufferforum.com for the species profiles.

my understanding is that if you raise your sg slowly (ie .002 / week) your monos will be fine, assuming they are not very young. the exact age i dunno. my mono is about 3 inches @ 1.012 and doing fine.
