today i was diong a waterchange in my tank and i moved the fr into a another container so i could clean their breeding net. When i was fitting the net back together, i lost my temper and threw it down on the floor. It always takes AGES to get it fixed together after i've cleaned it, and often comes apart while in use. So basically, it broke to the point of no return.Anyways, now that it is broken the fry are in a plastic container (with the same tank water) floating on the top of the surface. I am worried as now the water in there won't be filtered or even moving. The only thing i can think of doing is changing thier water everyday. Please help, i want this batch of fry to go well.

Is there any reason why you can't go get another breeding net?

Lost your temper? And I thought the hobby of keeping fish was supposed to be a relaxing type of therapy :)

Well I havnt used a breeder net, but I used a large(6-7inch) net with the handle sticking out of the tank and that worked while I was in the process of geting a breader net.

lol....wow well i don't even have a filter for my guppy fry, they never had moving water since day one (april 27). i just put a lot of cabomba inside of a 5g and they've done fine in it. of course you have to do WC's to keep nitrites and nitrates down in case of over-feeding and so much waste (they eat like little demons). i suggest getting some water plants and putting them in with the fry. what type of fry btw?

You could try rigging something up with a stocking/knee high and a plastic container with the bottom cut out. Just slide the container into the stocking foot and hang it over the side of the tank to hold the fry. Works in a pinch.
