i just looked on petsmart.com for a breeders net. it looks like an ordinary plastic box like thing. is that what it is? how does the water circulate in it? or does it feed from the tank water? just curious when i get it and add the methylene blue to it. that's not going to mess with the rest of the tank will it?

most breeders nets, are just mesh, they get circulation from teh entire tank, and would not recommend treating a fish in it. maybe you could spend the ten dollars , and get a 1 gallon, and use it for QT/?..

There are 10g tanks at walmart for $9.95, all you get is a tank, but you could make it into a hospital tank. If this fish is sick you do not want it in with the healthy fish anyway. Good luck.

it will not isolate the meds from the other tank, also if thats the stuff that turns the water blue it will stain the trap and your airhose blue, also the silicone in the corners. The sides of the breeder trap, the plastic model, are slitted to allow water flow.

Is this for your cory eggs? If so, I'd do the anti-fungal treatment in a separate container because you don't want to get that in your main tank. Then after a couple water changes in the smaller container, you can put the eggs in the breeder net.

not sure i follow this. treat the water (seperate tank) first and then add the eggs? needless to say...i lost all my eggs again...the must be delicious. I want to be prepared for next time.

try to keep them in water...investing in a breeder/rearing tank wouldnt be a bad idea.

you should put the medications in the tank before you put the eggs in, this will help reduce the chance of having a spot with an unusually high concentration of meds, which isnt good.

thx...i have a 10g that has been running with old media in it. no fishies or anything. it has been running for a week or so now. i take it that will be a good one to use? as for adding the methylene blue...is there a period of time to do this? I ask this in that it seems the eggs disappear within a day. I thought for sure I would get a few from this last batch as there were a ton of em.
