Breeding Bettas?

The VT gene is the most dominant of all the genes, so you would most likely end up with a high percentage of VT and maybe a few VT's that have the CT look.....you won't get the full finnage though....they would mostly have the droopy looking tail that VT's are known for.
IMO if a person is wanting to breed to get CT, HM etc never use a VT because it will put your betta lines back quite a bit and then VT gene is almost impossible to breed out.
If you're just doing it to see how you do, that's no problem, but you wouldn't get much at all for the fry...maybe $4 or $5 at the most. Also, don't breed any of the babies later on because of the fact they will have the VT gene and you won't get what you're trying to accomplish genetics wise.

my first spawn was with a CT male and a VT female and the fry were as candycat said, not very good, they had long odd looking droopy fins.unless you are just breeding to get the hang of it dont breed VT crosses.
