I was thinking of setting up a 20 gallon long aquarium and breeding bristlenose plecos and kribensis cichlids. I thought I'd divide the tank in half and on the kribensis side I'd have a cichlid stone and some java moss, maybe even some dithers. On the bristlenose side I figured I'd have a piece of driftwood and a large cichlid stone. I plan it to be bare-bottom and I'm not to sure on filtration. Also, would it make more sense to not separate them and just loose a few fry? Thanks.

Half of a 20L is going to be cramped for the Kribs. They take over the entire bottom of my 38 gallon. I would not breed both in the same tank if you are using a tank that small. The kribs will attack anything that gets close to their breeding site or their fry. It is best not to keep them with other bottomdwellers.

Ditto to both of the above. IMO--Either would need their own 20gal.
